🐴 Our Story — How Horsin’ Around Hope Haven Was Born


Horsin’ Around Hope Haven didn’t start as a business plan or a big idea on paper. It started quietly — with our family, our horses, and a growing sense that God was asking us to open our gates wider.


If you’ve watched our video, you’ve seen pieces of our life: the land we love, the horses who have become family, and the children whose lives have been forever woven into our hearts. What you may not see at first glance is the calling behind it all.


From the beginning, horses have been a place of peace for us. They slow you down. They require presence. They don’t respond to force — only to patience, consistency, and trust. Over time, we began to notice how children responded to that same environment, especially kids who struggled to find calm or connection in traditional settings.


Some of the children who came to us carried diagnoses. Some carried trauma. Some carried stories too heavy for young shoulders. And yet, standing beside a horse — brushing, leading, simply breathing — something changed. Walls softened. Anxiety eased. Smiles came easier. Confidence grew.


That’s when Horsin’ Around Hope Haven stopped being an idea and became a yes.



🌾 A Place for Kids — and for Horses

Our heart has always been twofold.


We wanted to create a safe, nurturing place for children, especially those with cognitive challenges like autism, ADHD, RAD, and trauma, where they could learn, grow, and simply be. No pressure. No expectations. Just connection.


At the same time, we felt deeply called to provide a safe landing place for older horses — horses who had given so much in their lifetime and deserved dignity, purpose, and peace in their later years. What we discovered was beautiful: these horses, gentle and wise, were often the very ones who connected most deeply with the kids.


Healing began happening on both sides of the lead rope.


✝️ Faith at the Center

Our faith is woven into everything we do. We believe God is present in the quiet moments — in the stillness of winter rides, in the steady breath of a horse, and in the small victories of a child who learns to trust again.


Horsin’ Around Hope Haven exists because we believe hope is real, healing is possible, and love changes lives. We don’t rush the process. We meet kids where they are. And we trust God with the rest.
